Local Governments and Home Ownership - a dying breed

HR2932 from Maxine Waters is still like an itch that I can't scratch - can't put my finger on exactly what bothers me about it, except that it clearly states that it rules over any STATE LAW again.  The feds are in such a massive rush to grab power, that all state's rights are getting trampled in the stampede to socialize, nationalize, our lives.

I'm dubious of the intent of this piece of legislation - it is cloaked in the language of good intentions, but deals with huge amounts of money...I suspect it's a huge deal of taxpayer money.  I'll continue to try to find out more about this one...

In the same hands (Barney Frank's finance committee) sits HR2743 - we have got to get HR2743 out of committee and passed as legislation that actually does some GOOD for state's rights - while these terminated dealers are still a fresh wound in american business minds.

Local government also suffers a blow at the hands of the Cap and Trade bill just passed - California building standards are going to be imposed across this great land of ours.   The same philosophy that has put California at the head of the class for being anti-business, will now be applied across each and every municipality and county government.  Yet more power grabbing by the FEDs.

The street where you live...won't be the street you can call your home under this administration - it's getting to be the place that you call your own little slice of public housing...watch the grabs that are expanding under eminent domain as well.  Between the elimination of state and local government power, eminent domain, and the writing of tax laws such that property ownership will be a dicey deal at best...the American dream of owning your own home is starting to sink into the horizon of a new twilight shadow stretching from Washington.

And it all comes down to power - the power to administer how California and Chicago, and the elite North Eastern academia think the rest of us should be living.  The arrogance is astounding.

The mid-term elections take on more significance with every bill that comes out of this Congress and every Act that is dictated by this White House.
